What to Track in your Habit Tracker (AND a free printable Habit Tracker)
Now that I’ve shared how to start a bullet journal, I thought I would start delving into some of the things I include in my #bujoweeklyspread in a little more detail to help you flesh out your bullet journal!
The one part of my bullet journal that has been an absolute staple and has honestly changed my life has been my habit tracker.
Benefits of a Habit Tracker
Having a habit tracker can be really useful in monitoring how you’re spending your time and if you’re making time for the things you want to cultivate in your life. Using a habit tracker weekly really helped catalyze me into action. Before I just plop down on the couch to binge watch netflix, I now think, ‘was there anything I wanted to do today that I haven’t?’ Maybe I’ll read a book instead, or maybe I’ll hop on my mat for a little practice and meditation. It has helped me in really crafting the life I want and deserve, instead of defaulting to whatever is easiest.
Weekly vs. Monthly Habit Tracker
There are several ways to create a habit tracker, the two ways I’ve seen most often are 1) a weekly habit tracker and 2) a monthly habit tracker. So, what’s the difference and which is best?
Well, sorry for not having a cut and dry response, but It really depends on preference.
Weekly trackers have the benefit of being able to be more agile, you can make changes more quickly or you can really tailor them to your weeks. Have a huge presentation on Friday? Don’t stress yourself out and make you habit tracker to your week.
Monthly trackers do take more time to create on the upfront, but you only need to create one for the month which does limit time in the long run. This way your habits are a little more locked in for the month and you’ll have to wait to add or remove some.

The Possibilities are Endless
With a little imagination, you can come up with tons of things to track. Something to remember, the habit tracker will only work if you do. Sometimes I forget and have to go back and fill in a few days, but honestly, my memory isn’t the best. My biggest recommendation is to set an alert on your phone to fill it out in the morning or to leave it out on your desk and fill it out intermittently as you go. My habit trackers have been getting more creative as I enjoy having a free outlet for my creativity but they definitely didn’t start off that way.
If you haven’t tried using a habit tracker yet, I really couldn’t recommend it more. I love being able to monitor so many aspects of my life, I have started removing negative habits in my life and replacing them with positive ones. One of my favorite things is to be able to look back over weeks and months to see my growth. Don’t forget to tag me on Instagram if you share your bullet journals! I love to see all your work.
