6 Ways To Embrace Your Divine Feminine

Divine Feminine

Growing up, both because my relationship with the divine masculine wasn’t healthy and because of the society I grew up in, I overcompensated and embraced my masculine side. I wanted to become the masculine energy I didn’t have to make me feel safe. What that meant though was that I was neglecting my divine feminine.

The past 12 months have been transformative. I have slowly started to allow my divine feminine space to come home to herself. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the divine masculine in me, what I don’t love is the toxic masculine traits I took on, and the weight of the cloak I hid my divine feminine under.

Let’s clear one thing up, embracing your divine feminine - and divine masculine for that matter - does not mean embodying antiquated gender stereotypes. It’s about embracing the best of both energies, which we all have to varying degrees within us. Embracing your divine feminine will increase your connection to yourself and others, it’s about following your intuition, surrendering to the flow, doing what is right and feels good, and living a life of abundance. While embracing the divine masculine is all about serving, working hard, making moves and protecting.

So now you’re on board with why, the next question is how?

Here are some of my favorite practices to help you get in touch with your divine feminine.

1. Follow Your Intuition.

I grew up not understanding how you could just follow your intuition. I would constantly over analyze and overthink everything. I am learning, however, that following your intuition is a huge part of tapping into your divine feminine. How am I learning to do that? Practice. Sit in silence. Listen to your emotions, listen to how you’re feeling and then the hard part, trust it. Practice actually listening to that voice. The more you practice listening to that feeling and allowing it to propel you forward, the more you build up your trust in it.

2. Practice Self Care.

I know it sounds cliche, but here me out. We all have masculine energies within us, they let us hustle and work hard, and make our dreams come true; but that energy can also easily bring us to burn out. The best way to let your divine feminine heal you so you can continue working hard is by taking care of yourself. This does not mean you need to go get massages and have spa days all the time...although those can be fun when available. Self care is about eating in a way that feels good to you, that nourishes you. It’s about setting boundaries and holding them. Maybe it looks like journaling or meditation, or spending time with the people you love or in mother nature. Maybe it looks like turning your phone off for a few hours or taking a bath or lighting yourself a candle just because.

3. Get Creative.

Oftentimes we stifle our creativity. What ways do you like to be creative? What gifts do you have to share with the world? What activities make you lose track of time. Do you enjoy painting, drawing, or ceramics? Do you enjoy coloring or crafting? Divine feminine energy is the creatrix. We create, so take time to think about what you enjoy creating and do more of that!

4. Don’t Compete with Other Womxn. Collaborate with Them.

This one is HARD. Society ingrains in us the drive to compete with one another. To think of other womxn’s talents, beauty and power as something inherently dangerous to us. Here’s the thing, those in power do this because they know the power of women who come together to sit in collaboration instead of wasting their time competing with one another. We are so much more loving and powerful together. Healing the sister wound takes time but it is SO DAMN WORTH IT. One of the ways I have really dug into this work is through my Womxn’s Circle with Shakti Soul Collective.

5. Move Your Body.

Not in the way that the divine masculine moves, but in the way your divine feminine is called to move. What if you just put music on and moved your body? What if you danced in whatever way felt good to you? What if you practiced yoga in a way where every pose and movement felt good? I love how dropped into my body I feel when I move with my intuition and get out of my head. Move past the fears. Move past the “What do I look like?” “What would someone think of me?” Just keep moving your body in a fluid way until you are dropped into your body and your brain can relax for a minute, let your body be creative, let your heart open to receiving and attracting your wildest dreams.

 6. Surrender. Trust that you are supported.

This one is hard for me. I am a control freak by nature but the divine feminine energy is all about releasing what you can’t control, surrendering to the universe, knowing that you are attracting what is meant for you. To do this I like to practice affirmation meditations repeating “Surrender. I am supported.” or “Trust the Process. I am where I need to be.”

This doesn’t mean that we sit back and never put in the effort to change the world around us. Of course we do. This is more about how to practice getting in touch with the divine feminine. I firmly believe there is a place within all of us for both the divine feminine and the divine masculine, both the push and pull energies, the work-hard-for-it and then surrender-and-attract-it energies. This blog was more about how those of us who struggle with connecting to our divine feminine can practice cultivating that relationship.
